The Complete History of Office 365 from 2011 to 2021

Now Today, I am going to share the complete information about Office365/Outlook 365 also known as Microsoft 365. Before starting this topic, I would like to tell you a little bit about Microsoft.

About Microsoft: –

As we all know that Microsoft Corporation is a global/international technology company that is generally called Microsoft established in 1975 by Bill Gates and Paul Allen. It is the one of most extensive/biggest and significant technology companies on this planet.

That famous for its: –

• Business Applications
• Gaming and Entertainment
• Search and Advertising

Now I come to our main topic Office 365, now we discuss the products included in this category and why Microsoft Lunched this product.

Microsoft launched Microsoft 365/Office 365 to manage the developing requirements of corporations and individuals in an increasingly connected to the technical digital world.

Several key factors influenced Microsoft’s Determination to Instruct Office 365:

• Cloud Computing: – The advancement of cloud computing offered new technical opportunities for data delivery and collaboration, which helped to grow your business fast and securely without wasting time.  MS 365 is a cloud/subscription-based service, that provides amazing benefits and flexibility to open/access their data/documents and tools on any device from anywhere with just the use of an internet connection. 
• Collaboration and Productivity: – Microsoft acknowledged the growing significance of collaboration and actual time communication in the workplace. Then Microsoft developed Office 365 to promote collaboration with the help of incorporating applications such as Sharing Documents, and Emails, allowing teams to perform together efficiently, and online meetings, etc. 
• Accessibility and Mobility: – In recent times increase of tablets, laptops, and smartphones, users were increasingly performing on the go and are required to access their data/documents, and mail over multiple devices. And Microsoft 365 fulfills this requirement of users easily accessing their data on any platform also with a uniform and synchronized experience.
• Scalability and Cost Efficiency: – Microsoft 365 provided enterprises with a scalable resolution, permitting them to scale up or down subscription plans based on their requirements. This eradicated the upfront expenses associated with buying and sustaining software permissions and delivered predictable monthly or annual pricing, creating it easier for associations to budget and handle their expenses.
• Integration with Living Infrastructure: – One of the main reasons for to design of Office 365 was to combine/integrate with other technology and services of Microsoft like- SharePoint, Azure, and Active Directory/ This permitted companies/organizations already using MS technologies to take advantage their existing assets and construct a seamless and suitable ecosystem.

The main proposes of Developed Office 365 is to offer a modern cloud-based suite that identifies the requirements of businesses and users, its motive is to improve collaboration, accessibility, mobility, and cost efficiency while constantly providing updates and creation to subscribers.

Office 365 Cloud-based suite, and it’s the best way to change the individual’s and business’s connection, communication, and professions.

Microsoft 365 is the most popular email client that permits users to send, receive, and manage emails. It supports many types of email protocols like POP, Exchange, and IMAP, which allow users to connect and handle their multiple accounts from various providers in one suitable interface.

Here is a brief overview of the History of Office 365: –

Launch and Evolution (2011-2013): 

• Microsoft was first Introduced to Office 365 in June 2011 as a beneficiary of the (BPOS) Business Productivity Online Suite.
• It also provides cloud-based editions famous of MS Office applications such as Excel, Powerpoint, Word, and Outlook with other services like SharePoint, Exchange, & Lync Online. 
• They also enhanced new advanced features and boosted the service, which creates additional powerful and integration.

Subscription Model and Mobile Integration (2013-2015): 

• In 2013, MS made an O365 subscription-based model that provides different plans for corporations, individuals, and small businesses.
• In this shift authorized users to update the latest version of MS Office applications without buying any new versions.
• Microsoft also concentrated on portable integration, releasing Office Mobile apps for iOS and Android gadgets, allowing users to access and revise documents on the go.

Integration and Collaboration Enhancements (2016-2019):  

• Microsoft funded laboriously in integrating Office 365 as compared to other cloud services and platforms for example: – Azure, Dynamics 365, and LinkedIn, to deliver a seamless user understanding.
• This also included Collaboration features with the intro of Microsoft Teams, the chat-based workplaces that got joint meetings, chat, files, and applications in one medium.

Artificial Intelligence and Workflow Automation (2019-2021):

• Microsoft incorporated artificial intelligence (AI) powers into Office 365, enabling features like real-time language translation, content suggestions, and robotic data analysis.
• Power Automate (formerly Microsoft Flow) was introduced, allowing users to create automated workflows across various applications and services.
• In 2020, Microsoft rebranded Office 365 as Microsoft 365, highlighting its grown scope beyond standard office productivity tools.

Existing State and Future Outlook (2021-present):

• As of my learning cutoff in September 2021, MS Office 365 restarts to develop with frequent updates and new qualities.
• Due to The COVID-19 pandemic has also revved the adoption of MS 365, as remote work and virtual cooperation became the model.
• Microsoft has been investing in spots like cloud protection, observation, and data management to fulfill the requirements of trendy workplaces.
• Looking ahead, Microsoft is likely to concentrate on enhancing AI powers, heightening integration with cloud benefits, and developing collaboration qualities to cater to evolving work surroundings.
